Race for the Cure

Wichita KIP at Race for the Cure. We all were pink handknit scarves except me. I was too busy working on Clapotis, the shame. But I did knit while I walked. Next year we are going to have a whole army of knitter walking.

A couple of knitters from KIP have become bloggers, check out Lia at Basking in Bliss. She is my fitness idol, rock climbing, camping, backpacking, clay pigeon shooting.

And Laurie of Macha Stitches, she is organizing a fabulous nursing home service project for our group.

Yay for me I got my sock-a-poolza socks done. They are going in the mail tomorrow since my pal is overseas. I took the picture with my open planner because I can not believe how busy this month is. I'm now the co-president of Sage's school's PTO and the school organizer for Girl Scouts. I need a vaction and school's just started.

"Labor" day

Me and D spent today laboring in the backyard. We finally cleaned out the shed which we have been putting off for 2 years. D started to clear off the patio at the beginning of the summer to make a deck but never got farther than taking out the bricks and stacking them in a most inconvenient place. I have given him till the beginning of November to complete this project (hopefully we will have a warm fall).

The reason for this post is to share a strange experience that I had. On Friday, I had some extra time on my hands so I decided to get a manicure. I went to a little nail place on the east side and sat down facing the back of the shop. There was mirror directly behind the nail tec. that reflected the front door. As she was filing my right hand a man walked in and said "Did those girls leave?" The other ladies in the store just looked at him strangely and said "We don't know who your talking about." The man left and about 3 minutes later walked in the door in only his socks and a shirt, all his man parts flapping in the wind. He quickly turned and left. All of us were in shock. This is my first time seeing a flasher and I hope my last. What a strange world.

Sunday, September 4

So we decided to try having a KIP on the East side of town to save some people on gas. ($3.19, what the hell). It was great as usual.

But this was the BIG suprise, Tonya from Tonya's Soup Kitchen dropped by completely by accident. She was shopping at the bookstore and noticed us so she came over to ask if we were Wichita KIP. Everyone loves this lady and her food and now she's going to join our group, how cool is that!! Honestly I was a little star struck and had to get my picture taken with her.

In other news, I finished one of my socks for my sockapalooza2 pal and cast on for the second one. They should be ready to send out by the end other the week.
