Apron Pattern

Love this Martha Stewart pattern for an apron. I'm going to wear this for the party this weekend. It only took 2 yards of fabric and about an hour and a half. I'm going to make one for every season.

ATC

I was at Craftster last night just looking around. When I discovered something called Artist Trading Cards. You can read some great information and see some examples: here . I give it a try and here's what I came up with. I love collages and have a large supply of random items that I have cut from my vast collection of magazines. Give it a try and let me know what you come up with.

One armed bandit

Look it's the one armed bandit. Everything is finished except for the left arm. I even did the collar. I just have to focus long enough to get this done.

Halloween Fun

Attention all witches and goblins, it's my favorite time of the year again: HALLOWEEN. We have had our decorations up since mid-September. Here's a couple of things that are new this year.

We love this Tigger inflatable and plan on adding more.

We made this sign from some scrap wood we had and I think it came out very cute.
This year we are hosting a spooky party for all our friends, complete with face painting, games, and lots of candy.

Noro Love

I bought my first ball of Noro yesterday. It's the most expense yarn I have ever purchased but well worth the money. The colors are beautiful and it's amazing to work with. Now I'm hooked.

Newman's Own

My new friend JoAnn has gotten me hooked on these Newman's Own Organic Chocolate Alphabet Cookies. They are so yummy. They have all the letters of the alphabet so you can play with your food. And all the ingredients are organic. It really doesn't get any better that this.

Shark Tale

We took the kids to see Shark Tale yesterday. I think that I am getting old. I just didn't like it, I didn't think it was funny. The black stereotyping of the main character, Oscar, made me uncomfortable. And the casual way that death was portrayed made me cringe.
I grow up with Aladdin and Little Mermaid, no one dies in Aladdin and only at the end when they are in mortal danger does the prince kill the sea witch in the Little Mermaid.
Many of the kids in the theatre were laughter and I heard at least 2 of them ask if they could buy it when it came out on DVD, so I guess I'm just too old and too sensitive.

Saturday, October 2

Not much knitting going on around here. I did finish the lacy poncho and a picture is coming. Next Wednesday at church is "Crazy Hair" day and I told Sage that I would finish this Hallowig in time for her to wear it but it's slow knitting (acrylic, plastic needles, in the round)
