The "BIG" trip to S.W.A.P was a "BIG" bust. This was the most unfriendly yarn shop I have ever been to. Me and my aunt were there for close to 2 hours and no one even acknowlegde our presents. No "hi can I help you find something". When I did ask about an item the girl actually sighed. I was very disappointed! For once I have money to spend on yarn but because of their attitudes I didn't buy anything. I give them a big thumbs down.

For all my good intentions I haven't gotten much done over this break. I did get my front flower bed cleaned out and new ground cover put down which took an entire day. Otherwise we have mostly relaxed and played with the kids.
Tomorrow's the big trip to S.W.A.K and Saturday is Sage's party. Then it will be back to school and work :(

Here's a couple of pix of the front of my eyelet skirt. My plan is to complete this one for me and knit a pastel pink one for Sage for her Easter wear. It's very easy knitting and I love how the eyelets look.

Here's the tank with the fisherman's ribbing. This is what $70 bucks and 7 hours of frustrated knitting gets you. As you can tell I wasn't so pleased with the outcome but that's the chance you take.

I haven't done a Friday Five in forever so here goes...

If you...

1. ...owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve?
I have a drive-thru (and dine-in) health food restaurant. Today after I picked up Sage from school we headed to the park and we really needed a snack but there's no place around here to go to get something good for you in a drive-thru. I would have to stop at the grocery store or come by the house. I just wanted to drive-thru and get a fresh-fruit smoothie or some fruit salad. Damn it, why are we so backwards here??? Arghh

2. ...owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell?
In the past I wanted to open a breastfeeding and attachment parenting shop like my favorite: Attachments. But now I think I would like to have a yoga/spirituality shop. It would be cool to own a hair salon.

3. ...wrote a book, what genre would it be?
I think it would be children's book. My new favorite is Two Worlds Together in Me (by the way this is an amazing site make sure to look at all their great stuff)

4. ...ran a school, what would you teach?
I would love to have a yoga studio.

5. ...recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it?
I never really think about it because my musical abilities are lacking.

One piece of the Eyelet Skirt is complete. But it will be put on hold while I knit a special suprise for the Un-Birthday Swap at Craftster.

In other news me and my aunt are headed to S.W.A.K. on Thursday. My only Spring Break trip, the rest of the time I will be doing homework. YUCK!

Sunday, March 7

I have decided to try the Eyelet Skirt from Summer 2003 Knitty. I decided to buy cheap cotton yarn (Lion Brand Cotton-Ease) because I let the owner of my LYS talk me into some $9.50 ribbon for my last project (a tank top) which ended up taking 7 balls and now that I have completed it I'm just not happy with it.
