Creating Me

Friday, October 31

Quote of the day:
Sage- "This is the best day of my life"
Me- "Why?"
Sage-"Because it's Halloween"

It could be one of the best days of my life, not because it's Halloween but because the mortgage company called today and said we have been pre-qualified for a loan. So we are house hunting

We started with the pumpkin on the left, it's suppose to be a lion but we think it looks more like a dog. Sage decided to name it "LionDog" (which sounds alot like lying dog when she says it). The middle one is a cat, Sage's choice. I decided to go with the theme and make the small one a mouse.
The 2 smaller one's had already been decorated with paints, by the kids, at the pumpkin patch. Trenton did his all in black. And the big one came from Sage's school trip to the pumpkin patch.
We used the pumpkin seeds to make pumpkin pie pumpkin seeds which came out very tasty. I will either put a link or the recipe in the need few days.

Here's my newest knitting project. A cell phone cozy.

Meomi is selling them for $25 but I decided I could make it myself.

We rented Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle tonight. It is just pure entertainment. I'm too young for the original Charlie's Angels. So these are the only Angels to know and I love these characters. I can't pick a favorite because I love them all. Now I have to buy it.

Do you think it's bad to "copy" a pattern from a book at a bookstore?? I usually would say yes, but today I was browsing in the knitting section at Border's. I found a pattern that I really loved but the book was $27.50 and that was the only pattern in the book that I wanted. The pattern was fairly easy and all the really needed to write down were the number of stitches to cast on and how many knits/purls in the ribbing. I feel bad but $27.50 +tax for one pattern (that I wanted) is highway robbery. Please comment.

Here's a couple of pictures of my latest projects. One is my workout log/journal. The other is my knitting project bag, needle "caddy" and a "coin purse". I was so happy to find that fabric at Wal-Mart for only $3.77 a yard.

Dennis talked me into going to see Kill Bill last night. I personally love all of Quentin Tarantino's movies. From Four Rooms to Pulp Fiction I love them all. Kill Bill is by far the most bloody movie I have ever seen. Decaps and excessive squirting blood is the norm. But the best thing about Q.T's movies they give you something to think about.

I picked up this great book by the creator of the BUST magazine. It has clear and easy instructions to teach anyone to knit. Plus 40 great, hip patterns. I love it!

The Interview Game
The rules of the game go like this:
- Leave a comment saying you want to be interviewed.
- I'll reply and give you five questions to answer.
- You'll update your web-log with the five questions answered.
- You'll include this explanation in your log.
- When someone asks you to be interviewed, you ask them five questions.
- And it just keeps going, and going, and going.

Q. Your dream vacation. Where? Doing what?
My dream vacation is the Eco-Challenge. I don't think other people would considered that a vacation but I would love it. Of course I would want to be in top condition and have a great team that included my husband.
Q. What is the worst movie you've ever seen?
"I Dreamed of African" We allowed our friends to talk us into seeing it, then I almost fell asleep watching it.
Q. Name something you couldn't live without.
Soft, stretchy yoga pants. I live in them.
Q. You are running through the African Savannah. Behind you is a hungry lion, before you is a lake with deadly fish. What do you do?
Come on is this really a fair question. Okay well there's no way that I could out run the lion so I would jump into the water and as I swim to the other side I hear the lion being attacked by the fish. When I make it to the other side I climb out and hop into my Land Rover, I see lion bones floating to the top and then sinking. (this situation depend on two things 1. the fish look at me and decide I'm too bony to make a good meal 2. a lion dumb enough to jump in the water.)
My other option is a helicopter dropping me a line.
Q. Coffee or tea? Beer or Wine? Fish, meat or chicken? Which one you prefer on each category?
Tea- a cup of green tea everyday will keep you health and happy
Wine- I don't really drink much alcohol
Fish- I don't eat enough fish, I just don't know how to prepare it well.

A big thank you to my new friend Anes for allowing me to join the fun.
