Creating Me

Monday, March 31

As if my kids didn't eat enough sugar, now I'm going to have to make these Chocolate Peeps.
I almost forgot tomorrow is April Fool's Day. I, obviously, didn't get to make the cupckes I referred to before. But at least I had an idea. And I can still play a joke on my husband. If you need some ideas check out the Top 100 April Fool's Day Hoaxes.

Now that we are back from our trip it's time to kick our fitness program into full effect. I'm at 144.5 up from my lowest which was 133 but down from 158 last year. I go to the YMCA faithfully at least 4 times a week but eating is my down fall. With summer coming up I'm really looking forward to going to the Farm and Art Market. I love the fresh fruits and veggies. Plus we can walk there from our house which is an extra bonus.

Also I have 2 pages worth of projects that I want to work on. If I can figure out a way to get some free web hosting for my pictures I will be putting my progress on this blog. I love to see pictures of things people are creating, it inspires me.

While I was away, 16 people visited my blog. I don't know if it was an accident or one of my friends told others to look at it. Whatever the case I was so excited to see that someone, somewhere, stumbled onto this.

Since I didn't put any links in this post. I will add this one just for fun. And in case anyone has an extra $30 they want to spend on me.

We had a great time on our trip. I would suggest Carnival to anyone planning on cruising. We ate constantly, pizza and ice cream 24 hours a day. Great dinner and fresh grilled cheeseburgers or veggieburgers, if you prefer, for lunch. The low point was missing Sage's birthday when we got stuck in Atlanta for 2 days. Our favorite was St. Thomas, it's just so beautiful.

I love this project. I have two AOL tin containers begging to be made over.

It's the 3 day countdown. Sun and fun here we come.

I saw this bracelet on the family fun site. I thought it was a cute idea but when I saw this version ( you might have to scroll down a little) I knew I had to make one. That will be my first project when I get home from my trip.

Tonight I am making a few globe magnets. I found some little fairies in one of my 'zines that are the perfect size. I love those things. I also make push pins and I have an idea to adorn a belt with them. I tried a bracelet but they are too chunky.

My best friend Carrie is leaving for her trip to Phoenix in only ONE day. I 'm wishing her a safe and fun adventure. Love you Carrie.

I am looking forward to making these cupcakes for April Fool's Day. Dennis is going to take them to work. I wish I could be there to see people's reaction when they bite into them. I love April Fool's Day, it brings out the devil in me.

Countdown to the trip is at 6 days. As SpongeBob says "I'm ready, I'm ready". I'm working on some surprise boxes for the kids. Everyday they get to unwrap one box, I'm putting little gifts inside like a project to do or new crayons and coloring pages. It will help them countdown till we get back and something for my mom to do when she gets desperate.

Down to the last 7 days. Things are going fairly smoothly, I completed our will and medical releases for the kids tonight. I have some beading left to do on my dress. This week I am focusing on cleaning, doing laundry and playing with the kids.

I wish that they had something like this locally. I have prom and bridesmaid dresses that are in good condition but not worthy of ebay. Maybe I could start one here, I will add that item to the 3 page long list of other great ideas I want to try.

Tren's getting sick again. He has had a really rough winter. He refuses to take any kind of medicine. I have been using the avon cold relief balm. . It's like Vick's rub only it smells better and it really works: calms cough, opens up airways. I feel like an old lady but I love Avon. It has done wonders for my skin, my acne has cleared up and my skin in so much softer.

Big thank you to my sister-in-law for giving me some awesome clothes. My fav is bright fushia linen capris and a black and white print jacket. It's so perfect for vacation.

The new Knitty is up. I'm looking forward to making the legwarmers. I think my 14 year old cousin will like them. Plus I can wear them to the YMCA. One thing I will NOT be making is the TIE . Honestly that's just creepy.

Saturday, March 1

Down to 15 days till the trip. I spent last night shopping with Trudy for clothes and accessories. I love that Trudy pushes me a little out of my comfort zone on clothing. I mostly wear sweat pants, tanks, and other gym-type wear, so it's nice to have someone say how great you look in something sexy or daring. Only thing I have left to buy is shoes, of course that's the hard part.

Me, D and TC went to see Old School . I was literally falling out of my chair laughing. It was great.

I'm trying to patiently wait for the new issue of Knitty , I need some new projects to knit. Right now I'm rebeading my dress for the trip, it's taking forever. But getting a $200 dress for $6 makes it worth it.
